Guido Gobino

Taste and imagination for Turin's most chic chocolate

Chocolate is part of the soul of Turin and the capital of Savoy is often considered a cradle of chocolate art for history, culture and tradition. One of the great masters of this trade is certainly Guido Gobino, mâitre chocolatier unique in its kind, which stands out in the field for originality, research and the quality of his raw materials.

This artisan chocolate shop does not bring with it a centuries-old history but simply a passion inherited from his father and cultivated since childhood. A love for this territory and the desire to always create something new.

Guido Gobino - Torino

Entering the boutique in via Lagrange 1, you will immerse yourself in an elegant environment halfway between the jewelers and the historic pharmacy. Dark wood interiors and large shelves house glass jars containing small pralines. The result of some alchemical magic next to each other, packs made with care by skilled hands.

A glass case protects the small exposed as works of art, with the thought of eating them making the experience even more tempting. Would you ever take a bite of the Gioconda? Obviously not, but putting one of those delicacies under the palate makes you feel as if you are enjoying a real masterpiece.

Guido Gobino - Torino

Among the flagship products and symbol of the Guido Gobino brand are the Giandujottino Tourinot, created in ’95 and designed for the madame of Turin, the classic giandujotto has dined in, two times, breaking it. The Tourinot Maximo, with a more intense taste, produced the historical recipe without milk and made with the traditional extrusion technique, which makes each chocolate unique.

The assortments range from ganaches, small colorful mosaic tiles and assorted flavors, passing over the overcoats and classic bars, arriving to the other undisputed centerpiece: the cremino. It is precisely this, with the salt and olive oil cremino that Guido Gobino in 2008 won the prize “best praline in the world” awarded by the Academy of Chocolate in London.

This boutique is not just a place of passage. An indoor room is dedicated entirely to those who want to relax peacefully tasting the delights of Guido Gobino accompanied by a coffee, a hot chocolate or the more traditional bicerin Turin.

However, it is in the back room that the real experience of the chocolate shop in Via Langrage is had. An “extreme” tasting room, as they define it, in which the client is invited on a sensory journey based on auditory, olfactory, tactile perceptions and obviously tasty.

We can't. That's why every week we share the best experiences turin has to offer.
