Gaudenti 1971

International pastry and Piedmontese tradition meet in this classic bakery

If you search the dictionary, an adjective for gaudenti is a “person who likes to enjoy the comforts and pleasures of life”. Omen nomen said the Latins, and never is there a more appropriate expression because Gaudenti 1971 is the right bakery for all gourmands and gourmets who want to enjoy the delicacies that the art of confectionery can offer.

Gaudenti 1971 - Torino

Gaudenti rises from the ashes of the famous patisserie Peyrano, in a historic shop completely renovated by the Lamatilde studio. Here, the contemporary does not disdain the past. The splendor of the old patisserie has given way to a minimal environment in which the old and gloomy boiserie has been painted with bright blue, the identifying color of the Gaudenti brand, which illuminates the rooms together with white and gold decorative motifs. All enhancing a contemporary counter, which dominates solemnly throughout the main hall and houses inside its long illuminated windows masterpieces of confectionery art. So beautiful it looks like furniture design.

Breakfast is certainly one of the ideal moments to take a break from Gaudenti. The croissants, with perfect and sinuous shapes, are something essential for those who really want to enjoy a pasta of excellence. But the temptations are never lacking and glancing across the counter you can already anticipate the fragrance of all the viennoiseries that the pastry chef Matteo Sforza prepares every morning. On the other hand, as far as pastry is concerned, we find the Piedmontese confectionery tradition and the intention to go beyond the borders drawing on the confectionery culture of other countries. This is thanks to the past experiences of the talented Sforza, who brought a bit of Portugal and Japan through the streets to the capital of Savoy.
